TB Spine
35 years old lady from Inderpuri (New Delhi) was suffering from low back ache for last 3 months. The pain was progressively increasing and at the time of first consultation she was in so much agony that she had not slept for 3 days. She was losing weight and appetite also. The pain was more at night and after exertion. She had occasional low grade fever after exertion.
MRI Spine was done and it showed pus collection around spine at L2-3 Level. ESR was raised. We reached the spine by Retroperitoneal approach. About 30ml thick pus was removed from L2-3 level. The pus was sent for culture and it came out to be Tuberculosis (TB).
Patient was immediately relieved of pain and was able to walk comfortable from the very next day of surgery. She was put on anti tubercular treatment and is now responding very well.
